This path, and an accompanying jogging/walking path, is part of Florida's Rails-to-Trails project. It provides passage along the entire length of the island for bikers, joggers and golf carts. Many visitors come to the island just to meander down the path...

At the southern tip of the island you can visit the oldest building on Gasparilla Island. It was constructed in 1890 and is one of just six lighthouses in Florida that is open to the public. Be sure to visit the museum and gift shop inside the lighthouse. Check out their website for current hours of operation.

Enjoy soft, white sandy beaches and take a dip in the Gulf of Mexico. There are 3 main public beaches that are part of Gasparilla Island State Park. There are also marked public beach accesses between First and 19th Street. Keep in mind that you will be required to pay a small fee to park at the State Parks.

The 105-foot range light, owned by the United States Coast Guard, has been lighting up our shoreline since 1927. You will see the range light at the first public beach as you head south on Gulf Boulevard.
